Grill or Chill (GoC) is a platform for startups to showcase their product and get valuable feedback from experts in the startup ecosystem. Each GoC ends with a networking session where you can mingle and connect with other entrepreneurs in a cozy environment.

Established in 2010, PAPER + TOAST is the first coworking space in Malaysia. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, our objective is to serve as a one-stop community platform for talents, entrepreneurs, startups, corporates and remote workers.

Apart from operating a coworking space, PAPER + TOAST runs a series of business programs and events. The goal is to bring communities together; to learn, share, and synergize from one another to build the future. We believe that through collaborations with a network of communities, the opportunities are endless.

How does it work?

Each startup to be grilled are given 10 minutes:
5 minutes – Startup to showcase their product

Dr. Cher Han Lau

Founder LEAD

Dr. Lau is a chief data scientist, keynote speaker and startup mentor in the area of data science and machine learning.  His work involves major companies, organizations, and government agencies across Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan and other ASEAN countries.
As the founder of LEAD, he has trained and advised many of the organizations including Shell, IBM, OCBC, Standard Chartered and Intel. Dr. Lau has also been invited as keynote speaker in many of the data science and big data events, such as Microsoft Azure Global Bootcamp, South East Asia SmartCities Convention, and Johor Corporation CIO circles.
As the chairman of the Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA) expert panel, Dr. Lau provides accreditation to ensure the curriculum of universities meets the requirements and modern trend. He is appointed by universities and government agencies including MDEC and state governments, as Industrial Advisory Panel to develop the national big data strategic blueprints.
Dr. Lau currently focuses on helping companies and startups to grow their data science teams and building in-house data analytics platform, to prepare clients for the future big data economy.
